Community Canvas
I created the Community Canvas to help civic leaders, practitioners, and problem-solvers get clear on what really matters before jumping into solutions. Whether you're designing a pilot, launching a new initiative, or pressure-testing an idea, this tool is meant to surface your assumptions and sharpen your focus. It’s a simple way to make sure you're solving the right problem for the right people.
The Canvas walks you through defining your target population, the unmet need, key partners, desired outcomes, early-stage costs, and how your approach compares to existing alternatives. It’s especially useful for community-driven work, where clarity and alignment often matter more than speed. My hope is that this helps you avoid spinning your wheels on a solution that’s not quite a fit.
This is still a prototype—so please test it out and leave your feedback in the comments below!
